Both at work and at home, almost every encounter in life depends on your ability to capture and hold the attention of others. From client meetings to interactions with coworkers and important phone conversations, often it’s not just what you say, but how you say it that makes the difference. The gap between people simply hearing your thoughts, and actually remembering and acting on them later, is the result of having a dynamic, evocative voice—one that ensnares the listener the way a Broadway star or any world-class entertainer would captivate an audience. To get the results you’d like in life, you need to become the star of the show!

One of the best books I've ever read...
The first 50 pages are amazing. If you take the time and do all of the exercises that she recommends, it will take a while to fully practice all of the stuff that she says, but it is well worth it.

Not so. In Voice Power, nationally recognized voice coach and communication skills expert, Renee Grant-Williams provides you with trade secrets on how to make your voice a powerful tool for achieving the outcomes you want from your encounters with others. Using practical, easy-to-apply techniques, you'll learn how to make your voice more expressive, captivating, and persuasive.
A fun, proactive program that will literally breathe new life into your voice, Voice Power teaches you the same techniques the author teaches her celebrity vocalist clients--techniques on how to control breathing and resonance in order to bring out the best qualities of your own voice. You'll learn how to employ a wealth of devices such as rhythm, timing, volume, and the rise and fall of voice pitch to get attention and create drama. And you'll get tips on how to keep your speaking apparatus healthy and resilient, so it won't let you down when you need it most to influence, convince, or seduce.
What's more, Voice Power gives you special tips that apply to specific circumstances that we all encounter--like what to do when you're faced with giving a speech, ways in which your voice can affect the outcome of a sales meeting, how to protect your voice when you travel, how to battle the effects of allergies, and how to leave a more memorable and productive voice mail message.
Packed with entertaining examples and anecdotes based on the author's extensive experience as a voice coach, Voice Power shows even the most timid of speakers how to become more confident, persuasive presenters and communicators. Whether you're an ambitious go-getter seeking more tools for getting positive results, an executive looking for ways to gain more power and influence in the corporate jungle, or a person with "aging voice" problems, Voice Power gives you the techniques that will enable you to command attention, captivate, and influence others, whenever you speak. |
